The gradient on the sky is really nice, and the perspective is generally nice to look at. Hands need some improvement, and the grass seems a little dull. Good luck!

The textures and lighting of the dog is spot on. One thing to work on is your human anatomy, plus adding more strands and texture to the hair. Nice job.

The background is real nicely blended, and the dog's anatomy is nicely drawn, but I suppose the position it's in is a little unnatural. The dog sorta looks like it's lying in thin air. The shading was generally nice, and the neatness is spot on :) Good luck!

Really nice! As some feedback, i'd neaten up the lines, and blend the colours a bit more. Although Jazza did mention being particular with your colours to convey emotion,in your piece it was a bit over the top. Other than that, good job, you've got a good chance of winning :)
